i witnessed an incident a few tables in front of me during lunch and i asked myself..
who actually gives them the right to look down or treat people who are less fortunate just because they have a little more luck, a little more brains and a little more looks?
i'm disgusted, really.

cookie jar
i always wonder why ppl put up lyrics in their blogs.. not that anyone would bother reading them, especially if the songs are pretty well-known..
then i heard this song.. and the next thing i know, i'm putting it on my blog too!
just that i find the lyrics (and even the title) of this song is so meaningful that i have to share it with... well, anyone
i think it describes people today perfectly.
anyway, its ok if you cant be bothered to read it haha i understand.
Cookie Jar - Jack Johnson
And I would turn on the TV,
But it's so embarrassing
To see all the other people
Don't even know what they mean
And it was magic at first
To see them speak without sound
But now your soul is gunna hurt
You better turn that thing down
Well, it wasn't me,
says the boy with the gun,
Sure, I pulled the trigger but it needed to be done,
Because life's been killing me ever since it begun
Can't blame me because I'm too young.
Well, you can't blame me,
sure the killer was my son
But I didn't teach him to pull the trigger of the gun
It's those video games and his tv screen,
You can't blame me it's those images he's seen
Well, you can't blame me,
says the singer of the song
And the maker of the movie which he based his life on
It's only entertainment,
and can anyone can see
It's smoke machines and makeup,
man you can't blame me.
Well, you can't blame me,
says the media man
I wasn't the one who came up with the plan.
I just point my camera at what the people want to see,
It's a two-way mirror, and you can't blame me.
Well, it was you,
it was me,
it was every man,
We've all got the blood on our hands.
We only receive what we demand,
If we want hell, then hell's what we'll have
And I would turn on the tv, but it's so embarrassing
To see all the other people
Dont even know what they mean
And it was magic at first
But it let everyone down
And now the world is gunna hurt
You better turn it around
Turn it around

drawn to it
recently i saw this book..
the cover page seems pretty interesting.. and the summary at the back of the book sorta promises a good story
so i took it and decided to give it a try
of course hoping that it'll be good
cos i'm making an investment
but i realised this book is seriously damn freaking hard to read
sometimes when i reach a small part where i could actually understand it, i felt really happy
then it starts getting complicated again and i get really confused.
i felt the message that the author wanted to convey was unclear and inconsistent.
and it can get pretty draining at times.
each time i put it away.. deciding to stop
i'll somehow take it back and resume reading
hoping that the next few pages would finally be comprehensible.
that the story will finally come clear before i reach the last page
and i'm really not sure about it
i just dont want to feel like a fool later on for not stopping
heh

short entries
i always marvel at other bloggers who manage to write an essay-like long entries in their blogs on their daily lives, moods, love lives, preferences etc- definitely a skill i dont possess. I do have a lot to say each time i feel like posting up a new entry but somehow when I start typing it always ends pretty quickly haha.
pretty ironic isn't it that i cant quite express myself in words and yet i own a blog.
but then again, life is full of ironies.
anyway, another drawing from not so long ago with some simple additional touch-ups. its called my uncle's antique fan

i'm not sure why you cant click on it to enlarge

exhibition at SAM
After all the squeezing and pushing in the pc fair at suntec (the crowd almost drove me crazy), I decided that I needed some quality environment..
and so I went to the Singapore Art Musuem.
This is my favourite section of the exhibition.. thought the shadows casted form really interesting shapes.. felt that the shadows stimulate the brain to perceive them as many different forms... its like you-see-what-you-want-to-see kind of stuff. damn cool
and this is done by a student from NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) in ink. The effect is amazing. These people are just so talented.
My conclusion at the end of the day was... to never again go to any pc fair.....
unless I really needed to buy something big. Haha
